The Hero Honda 135cc motorcycle known as the Ambition is a superb allround vehicle. It came at a time when the competition was becoming more fierce.

Unfortunately like the Hero Honda Street, it too has been removed from the active list and relegated to the pages of history.

On retrospect, I feel, there were a few mistakes the company made, despite having a superb product. I personally would rate it higher than even the Passion which everyone now-a-days seems to love, so you can begin to understand the importance.

It is human nature to try and belittle anyone who plans big or has ambitions. It should not have been named Ambition. Second, it should have been given a more rounded contour and should not have been made so tall. Indians are relatively short people and they appreciate a shorter vehicle. Instead of a round headlamp initially, they should have given a bikini fairing from day 1.

They should have given it fuel injection and a softer name. Alas if only ......
